Deva Capital Buys Claim Worth $25M in Grupo Aeroméxico
September 28, 2021, Southern District of New York – Bank of America c/o Bank of America Merrill Lynch transfers its claims worth $25M (Claim No.13542 and 13602 for $10,705,424.00 and $14,502,042.00, respectively) to Deva Capital Investment Company, S.L.U. in the bankruptcy case of Grupo Aeromexico SAB de CV et al. (“Debtor”).
Describing themselves as alternative investors, Deva Capital specializes in credit across Europe and Latin America, with a strategic focus on non-performing loans, real estate-owned assets, distressed corporate credit, and special situations.
On June 30, 2020, Grupo Aeroméxico, S.A.B. de C.V., and three (3) affiliated companies filed petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York seeking relief under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. The Debtors’ cases have been assigned to Judge Shelley C. Chapman. The Debtors’ cases have been jointly administered for procedural purposes under Case No. 20-1156.
