Deutsche Bank Acquires Claim Worth $40M in Latin-American Multinational Airline’s Bankruptcy

December 22, 2021, Southern District of New YorkGE Capital Aviation Services Limited files a transfer agreement 3001(e)1 with the United States Bankruptcy Court for Southern District of New York, recording assignment of its claim against a pan-regional Latin American multinational airline holding company, Avianca Holdings SA, to Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch.

Deutsche Bank bought the claim worth $40,735,267.00 (Claim No. 3992) from GE Capital. Avianca Holdings SA and certain of its subsidiaries and affiliates filed voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to preserve and reorganize Avianca’s businesses due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Avianca continues to operate and serve its customers during this process. Avianca’s case is jointly administered under Case No. 20-11133 before the Honorable Martin Glenn.
