Builders Association of Western Nevada Self Insured Group Sued for Alleged Preference in Gypsum Resources Materials (GRM) Bankruptcy Case

July 26, 2021, District of Nevada – The Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Gypsum Resources Materials, LLC (GRM) sued Defendant Builders Association of Western Nevada Self Insured Group to avoid and recover alleged preferential transfers worth approx. $100,000.00 under sections 547 and 550 of the Bankruptcy Code. The Committee also seeks to disallow any claim under section 502(d) of the Bankruptcy Code that Defendant filed or asserted against GRM.

Last week, the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of GRM also commenced adversary proceedings against about eighteen (18) defendants, seeking to recover about $1.6 million as alleged preferences. The case is In re Gypsum Resources Materials, LLC, Case No. 21-01106-MKN in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada. Honorable Judge Mike K. Nakagawa is overseeing the Debtor’s bankruptcy case. The law firm of Tucker Ellis is representing the plaintiff.
