Trustee Alfred T. Giuliano Seeks to Clawback $3.1 Million From United Furniture Industries, Inc.
March 3, 2022, District of Delaware – Trustee Alfred T. Giuliano of Art Van Furniture, LLC, et al. brings a clawback lawsuit against United Furniture Industries, Inc. and First-Citizens Bank & Trust Company to avoid and recover $3,145,010.91 in alleged preferences under Section 547 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Before filing for bankruptcy, Debtors offered customers a wide array of home furnishings under several well-known brands, including Art Van Furniture, Pure Sleep, Scott Shuptrine Interiors, Levin Furniture, Levin Mattress, and Wolf Furniture. The case is In re Art Van Furniture, LLC et al. in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, jointly administered under Case No. 20-10553 (CSS). Honorable Christopher S.
